Summer Concert and Afternoon Tea
THS and Woodchester Priory present a Summer Concert in aid of local charity, Hope for Tomorrow, and their appeal for a new mobile chemotherapy unit for Gloucestershire.
The concert will take place in the beautiful surroundings of Woodchester Priory* near Nailsworth, and afternoon teas will be available during the interval. The programme will include a range of classical and modern pieces – including Palestrina’s Exsultate Deo, Elgar’s Unaccompanied Part Songs and lovely arrangements of Summertime and Moon River, written especially for the choir by talented, local composer, Michael Castle.
Tickets are £8 (U16’s free), including afternoon tea and are available from Buskins Shoes in Nailsworth, Sofas & Stuff in North Woodchester. Filly’s in Tetbury or on the door.
Hope for Tomorrow, is based in Tetbury and was launched in 2003 to bring cancer treatment closer to home for chemotherapy patients by providing Mobile Chemotherapy Units to the NHS in a unique partnership. Their first unit has been serving Gloucestershire since 2007 and their 11th unit is being launched in Essex this July. Our concert will support their appeal for a Next Generation MCU for Gloucestershire – the existing unit will then become a reserve for the growing fleet.
* Woodchester Priory is located just off the A46 between Stroud and Nailsworth, opposite St Dominic’s Catholic Primary School. Postcode – GL5 5HP.
