The Thames Head Singers and Capriol Chamber Orchestra with organist, Julian Elloway.
Directed by Andrew Hopwood.
Celebrating Christmas and a return to concerts at last!
The Thames Head Singers are once again joining the Capriol Chamber Orchestra for a special Christmas performance.
Bach’s Magnificat is a wonderful celebration of the season, originally performed at Christmas in 1723 in Leipzig. It will be followed by a selection of carols, some traditional and some less familiar – including two from Richard Rodney Bennett and Timothy Rogers. As ever, there will be plenty of opportunities for audience participation!
The Capriol Chamber Orchestra will also perform two orchestral pieces and the choir will join them for a new setting of Away in a Manager by their very own Jonathan Trim.
This concert was originally planned for Christmas 2020, rounding off a year of celebration for the Thames Head Singers’ 40th anniversary – so we hope you will join us for this belated birthday bash!
Tickets £13 in advance from www.ticketsource.co.uk/thamesheadsingers , box office 0333 666 3366 or £15 on the door (if available), under 16’s free.
In the light of new Government guidelines, you are required to wear a face mask at this event unless exempt. Hand sanitiser will be available at the church entrance.
All performers will be taking a lateral flow test before the concert and audience members may like to do the same.
